If you have not used plugins with Sigil that means you have not validated with FlightCrew or EpubCheck plugins. Sigil, like any editor, will not prevent you from creating a non-valid epub, that is up to the author to validate their own epub using the validation plugins or external validation tools. This really is not an bug unless Sigil has somehow introduced the breakage and flightCrew and epubcheck show the epub as valid. Where do I get the plugins? I am aware that there are plugins, but I have not looked into them yet. Except, of course, for the last little bit of getting the epub to compile on the kindle previewer. I am new to Sigil, but I can tell you that I have tried every combination of ebook publishing InDesign, Word, OpenOffice, GoogleDocs, KindleGen, etc and the first thing that has actually worked the way I need it to is Sigil.
